COVID-19 and DCPA Update COVID-19 Fact Sheet - Dutchess County
The Board of Directors discussed the Covid-19 situation and came to the decision that we should evaluate the situation every two weeks and simply follow whatever guidelines are proposed by federal, state and local agencies.
At this time the guidelines are to practice good hygiene, practice social distancing and limit groups to 10 people or less. To effectuate those guidelines the following policies are enacted for the next two weeks:

1. Members shall practice good hygiene, as always, keep the lead in the berm, not on your hands.
2. Casual shooting is open to all members as usual. If other shooters are on the range, practice social distancing, but say hello, our members are good people.
3. Events with 10 or fewer attendees may proceed at the discretion of the person responsible for running the event.
4. Events with more than 10 attendees will be cancelled or limited to 10 participants at the discretion of the person running the event.

Please use the online calendar to check for event cancellations and for information regarding who is running each event. Most of the events in the next two weeks are cancelled as well as the March Membership Meeting.

While we do not anticipate any issues, we are being cautious and complying with regulations. Stay safe, shoot straight and thank you for your understanding.

- DCPA Officers and Directors

Welcome to the Dutchess County Pistol Association. We are a members only pistol shooting club nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley in New York. Our number one mission is our Dedication to Handgun Safety.

The DCPA was formed in 1937 in order to teach others how to safely handle small arms and to teach them to be proficient in their use. In order to continue to be a leader in handgun safety, we offer firearms classes including the NRA Basic Pistol Course.

Our ranges are hybrid ranges; you shoot from heated indoor buildings to outdoor targets. Our most popular range is our newly renovated Range 2. This is a 50 yard action range that has total cover out to 50 yards and includes heated and enclosed shooting lanes. All ranges are open for casual shooting for our members seven days a week, but we also offer many other activities that are open to the the public.

During the week we offer several Shooting Activities, some of which are open to the public, such as Bullseye, Steel Plate, and Practial Action. On weekends we hold a variety of Shooting Matches such as Cowboy Action, International Pistol, IDPA, and Steel Challenge.

If you are into handgun shooting or you just want to learn more, DCPA offers something for everyone. In addtion to our matches and activites for adult shooters, we also offer a Junior Shooting Program. We believe that teaching the youth in our community proper gun safety will ensure they become responsible and proficient gun owners. Our junior shooting program is open to the public and includes Silhouettes, Steel Plate, and Airsoft shooting events for youths 8 years and up.

The Dutchess County Pistol Asssociation has also hosted such events as the Empire Games and the World Police & Fire Games. It is this kind of dedication that has won us Club of the Year awards year after year. If you are interested in getting involved, we are always looking for new members who are dedicated to handgun safety and who would like to participate in our many events. Please take a look around our site, it contains all the information you need to start or continue your journey into handgun shooting.
